Wisdom and Culture
The Last Library is a nonprofit foundation aiming towards creating our last library through meaningful interviews and interactions between the youth and the older generations. We center around preserving the memories, culture, and life legacies of elders in nursing homes who desire to share their lives with us. Through this, we create a database that gives opportunities for volunteers to work, and the elders to speak about what they love and care about.

The Last Library is a youth-founded nonprofit dedicated to capturing the wisdom, culture, and lived experiences of our elders before they disappear. Through intimate interviews and digital archiving, we ensure that the stories, lessons, and philosophies of older generations remain accessible for all time.
Our mission is to document the humanity of those who came before us — their triumphs, their mistakes, their rituals, and their reflections — so future generations can learn from them.
We believe that every elder carries a library within them — shaped by culture, family, migration, struggle, and joy. Our work protects traditions, memories, and worldviews that might otherwise be lost forever.
In a world moving fast toward the future, we slow down to listen to the past. We bring youth and elders together, bridging the generational divide and fostering understanding, empathy, and community.
Everyone deserves to be remembered.
Our archive is free for the elders we visit in retirement homes and community centers. For families who want to sponsor a dedicated Legacy Page, we offer affordable options — allowing everyone to contribute to a living monument of human experience.
